How to book SGR tickets online via M-Pesa

• Visit Madaraka express website metickets.krc.co.ke
• Pick your preferred train depending on the time of your trip. For example, pick the County train for the morning trip and the Express train for the afternoon.
• Input the SGR stations nearest to you. For example, Emali or Kibwezi or Miaseny and so on.
• Fill in your travel dates
• After which you should proceed to pick the coach type you wish to travel with whether First Class or Second Class.
• Select the number of passengers you wish to book tickets for and enter the details (Name, ID number, Country, and so on) as appropriate.
• Choose M-Pesa as your payment option or pick any other you want to use
• Complete your payment to finish the SGR tickets online booking.

Tips about SGR Tickets and Bookings: SGR Tickets Printing and Confirmation

As mentioned earlier, once you have completed your booking, you will receive a confirmation
message with the numbers. We advise you not to delete the message. Take it to your
departing station to print your ticket on or before the travel date.

Note: All passengers should have arrived at least 60 minutes before the departure time to
avoid missing the train.

SGR Tickets Cancellation, Refunds, and Rescheduling

• The Kenya railway has rules for ticket cancellation and refunds. To seek refunds;
• You must provide an original ID card or document
• The ticket must be canceled 48 hours before departure for an individual.
• While group travel tickets should have been canceled 72 hours before the travel time.
• Tickets should be in good shape and not damaged.
• A 30% ticket cancellation fee will apply on every cancellation.

Note: the same rules are applicable for the rescheduling of tickets except that you will be
required to pay 10% and not 30% of the fee.

An adult single First Class ticket cost 3000 Kshs while second class tickets cost 1,000 Kshs
For children between the ages of 3 to 11 years, the First class tickets cost 1,500 Kshs while
the second-class tickets cost 500 Kshs.
